Leak Tester Detail

The CT-1000 leak test system is not only accurate and reliable, but is the easiest to program, calibrate, and operate.

All HKA leak test units have an RS232 output to facilitate data collection and provide means to monitor the leak testing in real time.

For many applications test systems can be installed, calibrated, and be operational in only a few minutes.

The calibration process is totally automatic, requiring only to be initiated by the operator.

All CT-1000 leak test units are provided with an RS232 port which allows for data collection, and real time monitoring of the leak test process.

A simplified, four button, touch keypad allows all required test parameters to be entered as prompted by the two line, high contrast, backlit LCD dissplay.

The unit has capability for ten independent test programs where different parts may be tested with one system.

The integral calibrated leak provided with all units not only allows the simple calibration process but also provides a foolproof method to verify system performance.

Annual recertification of the calibrated leak only meets ISO and QS quality requirements for the leak test system. Many users eliminate any downtime for certification by having a duplicate calibrated leak allowing one leak to be installed on the CT-1000 while the other is being recertified.

HKA calibrated leak orifices are made from stainless steel components providing rugged, accurate flow references used in initial calibration and verification of the CT-1000 leak test systems.  They are attached to the CT-1000 leak test by means of a standard 1/8 NPT thread and are readily exchanged for recertification as required. Calibrated leak orifices are available in flow ranges from one sccm to 100 slm and pressures from less than one psig to five hundred psig.

HKA Technologies maintains NIST traceable instruments to calibrate the leak orifices and certify their accuracy.

For many applications the CT-1000 leak test system is connected to a PLC based control system as part of the test stand, or test station in an automated line. A connector on the rear of the CT-1000 allows connection to such systems. For other applications, a simple manual control is all that is required.

The CT-1000 manual interface connects to the CT-1000 allowing the operator to initiate the test cycle, abort the test, and enable the calibrated leak for system verification. Indicator lamps on the interface unit show pass or fail, and in test operation. When using the manual interface unit, the CT-1000 leak test may be powered thru the optional 24 volt ac adapter.

The manual interface can also be used in automated systems to cycle the leak test system independently of the test stand PLC control for troubleshooting and diagnostic purposes.

HKA offers two Windows based programs which utilize the data from this serial port.

One program allows for leak test results to be stored and displayed in a variety of formats including spread sheets and histograms. A second program displays and stores graphs of flow vs time. This program is an invaluable tool for optimizing leak test cycle times, and quickly diagnosing problems in leak test stands.

The saved graphs provide benchmarks for system performance and allow ready comparisons to any changes in operating conditions.

Both of these programs record all of the setup parameters to enable any changes to be automatically recorded.
